It’s hard to believe, but 2022 is almost over! As we look back, our team has so much to be grateful for – we had a busy year filled with meaningful projects, incredible collaborators, and amazing homeowners.

Last summer, we had the pleasure of partnering with Make-A-Wish Minnesota to build a backyard Ninja Warrior Course for a wonderful young man named Luke. It was an honor to meet Luke and his family and make his Ninja dreams come true – the course even has a zipline! Thank you to our friends at Make-A-Wish for the incredible opportunity.

We have an exciting new project feature to share! Located in Wayzata, Minnesota, this new construction home is the perfect combination of elegance and relaxation.

There’s a lot to love about this beautiful home, from the picturesque exterior to its bright and welcoming spaces. Some of our favorite features? The timeless kitchen that boasts both beauty and function with white custom cabinets, a spacious center island with a white oak finish, and state-of-the-art appliances. And let’s not forget the mudroom conveniently located just off the backyard patio, which features a herringbone brick floor, a built-in bench, and plenty of hooks to keep the entire family organized! Expansive windows, arched doorways, white oak floors, and premium finishes only add to the home’s charm and sophistication!

Project Feature: Bloomington Kitchen Remodel

We’re excited to finally share the details of a stunning kitchen transformation we recently completed in Bloomington, Minnesota!

Prior to the remodel, the kitchen of this townhouse was outdated, small, and closed off from the rest of the main level. The homeowner’s biggest goal was to create an open kitchen with a view of the deck from the sink instead of a wall. To accomplish that goal, we reimagined the kitchen layout, removing the wall separating the kitchen from the entry and living room and adding a peninsula for the sink.

The new kitchen layout suits the home perfectly! One of our favorite features is the wood beams, which add a lot of character and detail to the space. The white quartz countertop and painted cabinetry contrast perfectly with the stained range hood and open shelving, which carries over to the built-ins surrounding the fireplace. The repositioned sink offers a clear view of the patio while allowing plenty of natural light into the kitchen.

When designing your kitchen, consider the kitchen triangle, which consists of the oven, fridge, and sink. These elements create the anchor from which the rest of your kitchen flows and help you establish a successful workflow that stands the test of time.

Trade Short-Lived Trends for Longevity

It’s easy to get caught up in all the new and exciting kitchen design trends. However, designing a timeless kitchen means making smart design choices. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it! You can easily add a new twist to timeless design elements, like installing a classic white subway tile in a herringbone pattern.

Choose High-Quality Materials

When selecting cabinetry, countertops, and the like, it’s important to invest in products that last. For example, custom cabinets are typically constructed with higher-quality materials and better craftsmanship than prefabricated options. On that same note, quartz is an excellent choice for countertops because it looks good and can withstand daily abuse from spills, food prep, hot pots and pans, and more. We recently had the pleasure of partnering with Make-A-Wish Minnesota, and NARI Cares to build a backyard Ninja Warrior Course for a wonderful young man named Luke.

It was a sincere honor to meet Luke and his family and make his Ninja dreams come true. What a joy it was for us to watch Luke come home to the surprise and delight of his own backyard Ninja Warrior Course – it has everything from a climbing wall to a zipline!

Thank you to our friends at Make-A-Wish and NARI Cares for thinking of us and connecting our team with this incredible opportunity. We will always hold the memories from this experience close to our hearts; Luke and his family are such special people.
